WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT CONFERENCE

The Women’s Empowerment Conference (WEC) is a dynamic and visionary gathering of Christian women founded July 2000 by Dr. Keira Taylor-Banks to address the holistic needs of Christian women in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. The WEC is a powerful prophetic gathering of women nationally and internationally with attendees from as far away as India and Nigeria. The WEC is currently held at the Destiny Center of the Living Waters Christian Fellowship in Newport News, Virginia with plans to expand internationally over the next several years. The WEC was designed to bring specific Biblical instruction to answer the needs of Christian women in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia, fostering spiritual, financial and relationship stability and empowerment to the conference attendees. Additionally, the WEC serves to provide an opportunity to engage fundraising for the Lily Housing Corporation (LHC) founded in July 2000 by Dr. Keira Taylor-Banks. The LHC is a 501 (C) 3 public charity registered with the State Corporation Commission of Virginia providing transitional housing for female heads of households and their children. From 2003- 2007, the WEC has raised over $100k in donations during the annual July conference.

MINISTRY IN INDIA

In March of 2006 Pastor Keira traveled to Chennai, India and served as the keynote speaker at Women’s Conference ministering powerfully through an interpreter while transforming lives through the Word of God. Her ministry to pastors wives was life transforming for many. Many of them reported to have had a life changing experience during those days of ministry.

In late 2007 LHC will expand internationally with our first orphanage in the city of Chennai in southern India.  The land has been purchased and the funds secured to establish the orphanage which will house and minister Christ to up to 24 girls.

MINISTRY IN NIGERIA

In the spring of 2007 Dr. Keira Banks traveled with her husband Bishop Steven W. Banks to Nigeria as part of an Apostolic team to strengthen pastors and lay leaders through biblical teaching and preaching. While there, Dr. Keira ministered to hundreds of women during a women’s conference hosted by Pastor Jumoke Adeyemi at Global Harvest Church in Ibadan, Nigeria.

During the conference, Dr. Keira shared a dynamic apostolic message of empowerment and deliverance with the conference attendees.  The prophetic anointing was released in a miraculous way and impartation was made transforming the lives of all who attended.

Plans are currently underway for Dr. Keira to return to the region to continue to uplift the women of Nigeria with dynamic messages of hope and empowerment.
